Again from the McConkie Ranch in Vernal, Utah...this circular figure and spiral were almost certainly crafted by the Fremont Culture about 1200 years ago. I found it interesting that it was located high up on the cliff begging the question, "how did they do that!" Anyone who claims to know the meaning of rock art is surely guessing because there are no written records. Most experts believe the spirals could represent movement, spiritual power, water, the sun, or journeys.

More petroglyphs! This time we are at the isolated plains of Wyoming at Legend Rock where you can find a cliff that contains carvings as old as 10,000 years! This one is probably "only" about 400 years old and depicts a jackrabbit referred to as the "Mimbres rabbit". I truly admire this ancient art and the more I photograph them, the more I see stylistic contrasts and differences that are actually classified and studied. This rabbit is considered an example of the Dinwoody tradition of rock art created by ancestors of the Eastern Shoshone. The Dinwoody style features amazing depictions of humanoid/alien-like carvings that have the conspiracy theorists talking late into the night! Unfortunately, some visitors have defaced panels over the years despite protections. If you are one of those idiots who feel the need to damage this historic and sacred art, don't let me find you doing it. There's going to be trouble.

Abandoned house in the middle of nowhere, Eastern Colorado. Curiosity killed the cat....we were dying to see what was inside and found antique TVs, washing machines and refrigerators. Of course we left it as is but very interesting.
