March 2026. I spent some time in the concrete jungle, at city parks too. Wildly out of my comfort zone, I went to museums, on the subway, on rivers, ate great food, drank good coffee and immersed myself in what NYC had to offer. But I miss getting lost in back roads, brake slamming for photo ops, clearing my mind, feeling nature engulf me and experimenting in the wild.
It might be awhile. Gas is something to consider for the first time in a long time. So it’s time for short trips, digging into the vault, start a project and finish up old ones.

I’ve been obsessed with this Monet for a very long time. I had to wait to take this. I didn’t want to leave so II waited for a bench to continue to get a glimpse through the layers of people who filed in. I’ve balked through the years of buying reproductions until I see the original. Now I can do that. I love Photography; but I wish I could paint most of all.

My first Yellow Crown Night Heron. We caught a spectacular courtship display—a real treat! These are six in the sequence from start to finish of him stretching his neck high then bowing really low as he flexed and fluffed his feathers for attention.

This owl in flight flew right by the boat at shoulder level (1st photo)I had to whip around so fast to catch any of him. I was such a surprise. Then we followed to see where he would land (2nd photo) and try to catch a shot—of course, I was shooting into the sun-but who cares. The experience of sharing this river space side by side for even a second next to this gorgeous creature was truly magical!
