We get asked all the time where in Colorado we love to shoot the most so we decided to make a list of favorites things because they are our favorite for a reason!

First, our favorite places to photograph couples in Colorado are The San Juan Mountains, Leadville, Buenavista, Crested Butte and Breckenridge.

Our favorite time of the day to photograph is sunset because we are not morning people. By we I mean me (Laura). But I will wake up for an epic sunrise if the location looks better at sunrise.

Our favorite time of the year to photograph is summer and fall. It’s when Colorado is actually colorful. Specifically June-October

Our favorite type of elopements to photograph are the ones where we can get to epic spots without working that hard. Think off-roading, hikes under 3-4 miles, drive up spots that are close to other spots with different scenery etc.

Our favorite people to work with are couples who love the outdoors, care for good photos and care that they have a day that feels like them. They aren’t worried about everyone else and they plan an intentional day to spend with each other. They know how to have fun with one another and they value being able to have new experiences together.

Our favorite activities that couples add to their day are a first dance, a unique unity ceremony, popping champagne, eating any kind of sweet treat and just anything fun!

There’s a lot of things we love about elopements and these are just a few 🫶what other favorites should we share?

Such a beautiful day yesterday 🫶

We had so much fun with K & C hiking through the woods to this gorgeous alpine lake. We were expecting rain most of the afternoon but it never came! They got ready in the woods, hiked, exchanged heartfelt vows, and frolicked all over the area. It was so much fun watching them finally do the thing in the most “ them” way possible.

Enjoy some of their previews from the day

On average, a bulk of the couples that work with us plan between 4-6 months out from their preferred elopement date. The rest range between the 8 month-1 year mark or 2 week-3 month mark.

There is no right answer to when you have to start planning. If you don’t want to wait and you’re flexible you can elope as quickly as you’d like. If you have a specific vision and want to make your day as intentional as possible, take your time. ( I will say that you can still plan something intentional in a short timeframe as well)

Either way, if you need more guidance- head over to our website. We have a ton of planning resources on there. If you’d like more help on planning an elopement day in Colorado, fill out our inquiry form and let’s meet/talk about what you’re thinking !

I feel like a traitor posting about fall rn when summer is still in full swing but I realized that it’s quite literally just around the corner. Even saying that gives me “summer is going to end soon” anxiety but Fall is my second favorite season in Colorado because it’s still not that cold and still not that crusty.

I love Colorado when it lives up to its nickname “Colorful Colorado” but sometimes ( as in 6 months our of the year) it is definitely not fu***ng colorful at all.

So if you’re planning your elopement in Colorado and don’t know that season to do it in, it’s important that you are well informed on how each location looks based on the season!

Enjoy these two cuties in some cutie fall foliage 🍂

We can’t believe it’s basically August ( the best month tbh) . This is about the time I start freaking out because we technically only have about 1.5 months left of summer in the mountains before fall. So that means we have to spend as much time outside as possible 😅

Summer is one of our favorite seasons here followed by the fall. It’s when all out favorite spots look the best and when they are the most accessible. We highly recommend summer and fall dates if you want to elope in Colorado.

Who else loves summertime?

The best part of getting married in Colorado is having the opportunity to self-solemnize✨

It makes it so much easier to plan an elopement whether you’re from CO or coming from out of state.

Self- Solemnization is what makes planning your elopement out in nature easier.

Save this post if you’re planning to elope in Colorado soon!
