Glad to be home in Perth, WA.
After spending 13 months in Denver, Colorado, I had to get to the beach and enjoy the fresh, nice breeze the ocean brings. Listening to the wave and the birds to destress from the US madness that is happening there. I had a decent time with my siblings, especially my brother. My youngest sister took advantage of me on the tennis courts (lol, altitude sickness is real, Joan), had great conversations with my other sister, who is my birthday present when I was 3, she came along, and there were no more pineapple upside-down cakes for me. I was able to say my goodbyes (see you down the road) to my Dad and Mom, which was the most important part of the trip. Denver has changed, not as friendly as it used to be, but hey, everything changes, right?

It has been almost a year since I moved to Denver to be with my parents as they transition to their next journey. I was glad to be able to do this as now both are with each other and I know they are looking after us. It was my goal not to shoot or think about photography while here as I wanted all my attention to focus on the time I had left for them only. Now that this has come and gone, I'm slowly making my way back to what I love and miss. However, being here and focusing on other issues has made me more aware of what is going on in this country and I have to admit I'm not a fan of it. When I left Denver some 50 yrs ago it was by far the most beautiful place you would want to visit, the outdoor lifestyle could not be beaten, skiing, fishing, hiking, tennis you name it it was here. Now there seems to be this atmosphere that seems to keep folks from walking up to strangers and saying "Good Morning" or "hi". You do this to some and they either turn away or hold their heads down. Not all are this way just a a large number seems to be this way. Those that stop to talk are just wanting to have a connection with strangers and they too are finding it hard.
My trip here is about to end and I'll be heading back home to Perth, the most friendliest place around... can't wait for these anxiety bouts to end too.
I will miss the snow (yes I love snow), my brother, sisters, friends and other members of my family but then there will be plenty of phone calls made. What I will miss the most besides my mom is my dad's saying when I ask how is he and his response was always "I'm doing ok for an old guy", whenever I hear that it made me smile. Now I hear it in my thoughts.
I've posted Denver's skyline both in the winter and the spring.

Been almost a year in Denver, CO, I've run into some very nice folks. I tend to meet them while walking in the park or at a cafe. It's nice to see not everyone is in the awful division that seems to be infecting the US atm.

April's snow
April 18, 2025
Just as the floral is starting to blossom, mother nature has other plans. I'm sure this is not the last of the snow as when I was a youngster living in Denver it snowed in July.

Happy 4th of July to my friends living abroad and in the US.
