About Brent Jones

I’ve been told that happiness in life can be directly related to whether or not you are doing what you love in life.
By combining my love of people, art, architecture and finance into a real estate career has been a winning combination for happiness and a lot of success.

Working hard at getting my seller’s the highest price possible with the least amount of drama is my ultimate goal. The same applies to buyer’s – adapt with the buyer’s as their learning curve changes and being able to pivot to different neighborhoods and price ranges can be vitally important.

Growing up in Kansas City, Kansas and Lincoln, Nebraska my family lived in 3 different Mid-Century Modern homes based on Eichler architectural styles. I am currently living in my 3rd Midcentury modern home in Metro Denver area. Lots of remodeling activity will be taking place this summer with a new kitchen and baths.
Many changes in the real estate market have happened during my 18 years in the business. Each change resulting in additional learning and adaptation. My background as a Big 8 Certified Public Accountant as given me great strengths in understanding all the moving parts of the real estate transactions.

I’ve had the privilege of working with Dee Chirafisi for over 25 years and am equally honored to call her my friend. For this lifestyle shoot, I aimed to capture the essence of her artistic spirit, her beautiful creations, and her unwavering dedication to rescuing dogs and cats—a cause close to her heart.

In her own words, this is her story.

"I split my time between Colorado and Cabo with my wonderful husband, two dogs, and a gato. Both places deeply inspire me, and I feel fortunate to call them home.
With a fine arts degree and over 35 years in real estate, I rediscovered my creative side a few years ago, thanks to the encouragement of Cabo artist Misty Martin and my dear friend Kathy Sherry. They helped me find my medium—transforming animal skulls into stunning, one-of-a-kind works of art that honor their beauty, spirit and history.

Each skull is a collaboration between the animal’s form, the local environment, and my artistic vision. In Cabo, I incorporate shells, sea glass, coral, driftwood, and other organic elements to reflect Baja’s natural beauty. In Denver and Aspen, my designs lean into denim, leather, jewels, and natural stone. Santa Fe pieces honor Native American culture, featuring turquoise, silver, and materials steeped in tradition.

I research famous rodeo bulls and bullfighters to give each piece a meaningful name and history, letting the skull’s essence guide the process. As I bring these skulls back to life, they bring my creative spirit alive in return—a deeply symbiotic relationship.

My work is displayed in galleries in Denver, Aspen, Santa Fe, and San José del Cabo.

Beyond creating art, I am passionate about animal rescue, dedicating decades to saving dogs and cats in both Colorado and Cabo. In a spiritual way, my art feels like rescuing bulls—giving them an honorable and sacred rebirth.

I hope my skulls resonate with those who find them, offering a sense of connection to the animal’s spirit. These aren’t just decorative objects; they are alive with meaning, beauty, and wisdom.

My volunteer work at MaxFund is both extensive and deeply rewarding. I train new volunteers, walk and socialize dogs, and work with them on training to help them thrive. I also help bring dogs from Mexico to MaxFund, giving them a chance to find their forever homes. In addition, I serve as an advisor to the board and assist with social media and fundraising efforts

What I love most about MaxFund is its unwavering mission to provide a true no-kill shelter for dogs and cats, offering animals who might otherwise be overlooked a chance at a full and happy life.

Helping each dog at MaxFund fills my heart with joy—it’s a privilege to be part of their journey toward love and belonging."

I have known Karen Brickerhoff for over 25 years! I had undeniable luck as Karen was my realtor when I bought my home and carefully walked me through the process, becoming not only my realtor but a very good friend. I took these photos of Karen for a community magazine highlighting her accomplishments and her dedication to her family, career and super sweet dogs.

Karen is the consummate realtor with over 25 years of experience navigating the vibrant Colorado real estate market. A fourth-generation Denver native, she blends deep-rooted local knowledge with a seasoned perspective on market fluctuations.
