[ REFINE & REDEFINE ] ~ CREATIVITY
Let’s get back to the basics.
Creativity is the interaction of energy, and storytelling is a necessary expression of creativity.
To create is to bring something into existence, meaning creativity is not reserved for the fine arts. The transformation of ideas, emotions, or energy into physical form or something energetically tangible is inherently creative. Designing, crafting, building, developing, synthesizing, processing, performing, and communicating are all forms of bringing visions to life.
All throughout history, humans have used creative expression and storytelling to make sense of the world and to grapple with the known, unknown, and everything in-between.
Have you ever found yourself in a haze of emotions and experiences wondering if anyone else has ever been here or felt this way before, desperately trying to make sense of what is going on? When we experience unimaginable joy from connection and love or unbearable grief from loss and separation… there is a point of release and an overflow of energy. What we do with that abundance… well, that is where free will comes in, and it can either result in expansion, contraction, or destruction. Creative expression IS because the Breath of Life IS.
How do we maintain the integrity of life-giving creativity? How do we resist the unhealthy demand for content creation? Or dismantle the overconsumption of passive entertainment rooted in instant gratification that leads to more separation, polarization, and disembodiment?
Of course, this is packed with nuance because creation is powerful. Yet, it is still up to us to decide on the narrative in which we choose the who, what, when, where, and why we create.
The power of creation comes with the responsibility of being intentional.
An invitation to share (answer all, answer some, answer none):

2. Who do you spend time creating with?
3. When does creating feel effortless?
4. How have you created space for self-expression?
5. What forms of creativity do you find life-giving?
