Friends! A chance to see and/or purchase our Culture Dish cookbook in person! On Sunday Feb. 26th from 10:30-12:30pm, we will be at Ruby's Market on South Pearl Street to participate in Global Love Fest (don't you love that name!?)!!

And if you can't make it at those times, Ruby's Market is absolutely worth the visit anytime.... This store in an alluring multi-cultural artisan and food destination, and the first time I went, I never wanted to leave! Colors, scents, art and creativity galore. I picked up the most delicious spices to make Molé, Jamaican Jerk chicken, and fresh-baked bread..... their prices are incredibly fair and you will leave feeling inspired and proud to be part of this beautiful world of so many cultures.

Come see us two Sundays from now!

Friends, you may remember that for many months, I have been pouring my heart and time into a project called Culture Dish. This was a project through Picture Me Here that focused on celebrating refugee and immigrant women, showcasing their knowledge, skills, traditions and cultural identity around food.

I am thrilled to announce that the project has come to completion, and we have a gorgeous 120-page cookbook to share! This cookbook features the women’s family recipes from around the world and also tells of their incredible journeys.

I can't think of a more beautiful holiday gift! You may purchase your copy here - all proceeds return to Picture Me Here to support more programming:

By reading their meaningful stories and tasting their culinary creations, we hope you enjoy sharing a meal with these women, too!

Many thanks to our fiscal sponsor, Lighthouse Writers Workshop, and especially Arts in Society & the Addy Foundation who made this beautiful project possible!

I am thrilled to tell you about a beautiful food & storytelling project available for refugee & immigrant mothers. It is called “Culture Dish,” and I am helping to run it through Picture Me Here.

We are looking for a small group of 6-8 mothers who love cooking and would like to share stories about food and culture in a safe, fun, friendly environment. Each participant will choose a favorite dish that is meaningful to them, and they will be paired with a mentor who will help document their cooking, record their recipe, and help share their story in their own words. Photography will also be taught! Photos, stories, and recipes will be compiled into a cookbook, and all participants will receive a copy. There is also a stipend available for participants who complete the program.

Thrilled to be featured for the second time on on their Shoutout Colorado page! Head on over to read more about what I want to leave as a legacy, heartfelt words about the Sisterhood Photo Project and more..... Thanks Voyage Denver!

Shoutout Colorado's mission is to encourage "people to spend more of their money with mom-and-pops, small businesses, independent artists and creatives. They think one of the most powerful ways to do that is by putting small business owners and creatives at the center of discussions designed to spark conversation within the community." We couldn't agree more!

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Townsend and we've shared our conversation below. Hi Lynn, what do you want your legacy to be? What do you want people to remember about you? I adore this question, and believe it or not, it is something that I think about regularly. In short, I wa

Friends, tomorrow is the last day to provide a statement to save our asylum system. This link makes it SO easy to do so ~ please take just two minutes (literally) to do this, please? I can't imagine if those who needed safety the most were turned down when they finally reached the United States. THANK YOU for caring ~ ❤️

Friends, this breaks my heart. Please, please take a moment to submit a public comment. Just change wording around a bit and click "submit." It's so easy and can make ALL the difference for our sisters and brothers seeking asylum.

Here's the background....."After years of chipping away at the asylum system and the rights of those in need of protection, the Trump administration is proposing a rule that would effectively end asylum once and for all. This is a crisis moment and historic low point with literal life or death consequences for some of the most vulnerable people in the world."

My faith called me to submit a comment against the administration’s plan to end asylum. I am pledging to get three others to speak out for those seeking safety too! [Insert handle][Insert handle][Insert handle] Join me: []
