Words cannot express how grateful I am to my incredible friend for capturing these pre-chemo images of me 💜
Over the next few months, I'm going to need them as a reminder that the version of me who likes to frolic through pretty gardens still exists. She's just resting.

For the curious: I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in July and went in to have a lump removed. During that surgery, they found more cancer in my lymph nodes so, to be sure we destroy it all, I'm doing chemo for the next five months.

The side effects are really sh*tty and unpleasant but I am hoping that Garden Frolicking Kendra comes out the other side feeling happier, healthier and stronger than before.

To everyone who's sent a kind word or just tapped the little heart icon, the love is very much felt and appreciated 🙏🏼

The idea behind this image was a Winter Ghost but, honestly, it sort of embodies how I feel about 2025 so far - it's like wearing a chiffon dress in a snowstorm, with a veil over my eyes.

p.s. HUGE shoutout to who sat in below freezing temps in the world's flimsiest dress with a piece of lace over her head. It was so cold, we only photographed for about 15 minutes, but I kind of enjoyed the challenge of having to think of my feet and take photos as quickly as possible.

You know what I love about fantasy photography? It can be literally ANYTHING!!

Of course it can be fairies and witches and magical creatures.
But it can also be stepping into a character from the past and imagining the sort of person you'd be if you were born in a different era.

I like to imagine .19 in these images as a strong, intelligent woman who would've had her own definition of femininity and pushed against society's expectations.

If you could step into any era, just for a day, which one would it be?
I'm pretty attached to modern technology but, if it was only for a day, I'd like to go on a shopping spree in the 1920s💃🏼

Being a human living in reality can be overwhelming 😵‍💫
Have you ever considered escaping into a fairy tale and becoming a mythical creature instead? 🧚🏾‍♀️🐉🦄🧜🏼‍♀️🧞‍♀️

When I was a kid, my favorite game was Dress Up. I loved being able to put on a costume and step outside myself so that I could be a magical fairy lounging on a flower or a super spy out solving mysteries.

The only thing that's changed about grown-up Kendra is that now I love giving other people the chance to step outside themselves and embrace a character that makes them feel powerful.

So, on that note, did you know that you can hire me to create photos of you as a warrior queen or a medieval vampire or a fairy princess or whatever character makes you into the bravest, most awe-inspiring version of yourself?

I've been working on my Big Dream with .life and what lights me up is to help anyone who has ever felt like they just needed to be someone else for a day, to feel like more than what they are in every day life. I want to be the person that gives you permission to be enchanting, feral, bewitching. Downright legendary ⚔️👑🏰
