i’m trying to meet more creatives i haven’t worked with yet 🫶🏾

Lydia | Colorado Photographer and I putting together an independent creative production on november 28 in Denver and want to find new people to work with for this project!

We’d love to meet more makeup artists, set designers, movement directors/coaches, production assistants, and people who shoot bts photo + video. i’m also interested in connecting with digi techs + stylists.

and when i say open, i mean open. If you’re serious about your craft, please apply!! if you’ve been doing this for years and just want to make something with new people, apply. i’m really trying to make more room in my work for meeting creatives outside of the circles i already happen to be in.

the production is november 28 from 8:30am–12:20pm, and the crew interest form is open now.

the annoying thing about a moodboard is production does not care how attached you are to it lol.

for path of a star, we had this reference with a star-shaped light around the model and i was VERY committed to that star. then we got into the studio and the skylight over the c*c basically ate it alive, granted the light was pretty low in wattage :(( it just was not going to read the way it did in my head.

we spent a little time trying to rescue it before realizing we were fighting for the wrong thing.

what i actually needed from that reference was scale. i wanted the models to feel like the brightest thing sitting inside something way bigger than them.

so we pulled the blue + purple that were already in the clothes into the lighting, backed the compositions up, left a lot more air around them, and stopped trying to make the literal shape happen.

which is probably one of the more useful things creative direction keeps teaching me. sometimes the reference stops helping once you’re actually standing on set. then you have to know which tiny part of it made you care in the first place.

the star never showed up. somehow we still made path of a star.

Wohooo, I’m SO excited to finally announce our second photo day before Halloween! 🖤

And as always, you already know we’re pro-maxing over here. We’re doing everything to make sure you have the best time, feel confident, and leave with really, really good photos!!

But this time… we went way bigger.😍

There are going to be so many surprises, extra little details, and we’re also adding a HIGH HEELS WORKSHOP at the end of the photo day !🙉 WHAAAT!

Of course, spots are super limited, we can only accept 12 Black Cats this time!
