I was able to make it back to Hanging Lake this year with Ryan Chamel, getting our hiking legs back into gear after recovering from surgeries (both of us). The elevation gain is real for this short hike but the view is so worth it!

This year I have managed to get back into bigger hikes, just had to give the time for my hips to build up their stamina, I’ve completed a few hikes over 10 miles and that makes me happy and excited for next years adventures and bigger hikes!

Anywho, we also stopped by r***e falls, our first time seeing these lush falls ourselves and were greeted with an early morning rainbow!

Finally had a little time to work on some of the panoramic photos I took over the past month and wanted to share one with you!

Mormon Row at sunrise on the last day I was in the Tetons. Something about that early alpine glow that gets me every time.

Had to bust out the Sky View Tents while I was up in the Tetons a couple of weeks ago. I’m always getting comments about how quick it is to set up, I start after others and am done before they are. With the internal built-in rainfly you only have 4 pieces, 3 for building the structure and the tent which makes for a simple setup and tear-down.

A few more…
Sorry this scene was just too good and shared with such incredible people. I left the Tetons feeling inspired with a new view on my landscape work, one where I want to bring awareness to others through my work of these sacred wild places and the need to protect them.

Next time your out in the wild nature near you just stop, lay down somewhere and focus on your breathe, feel the earth (grass, sand, roots), the wind, the heat of the sun on your skin. Pick something that stands out and focus on it, allow it to take up your concentration and sit with it. Nature has a way of bringing us back to center when we slow down and allow ourselves to truly feel.

Sunrise at Capitol Peak

The early morning light, elk bugling in the distance and this view all to myself. Excited to explore this area more with my camera I’ve missed the western slope but my new camper will make this more possible! The next year is building to be one for the books.

Maroon Bells - alpine glow

Headed back here tomorrow (again, was here last Wednesday- Thursday) as ryanchamel hasn’t been yet and then soaking in Glenwood Springs, not a bad way to wrap up chasing fall colors!

The first photo was taken just before 6AM, that alpine glow and stars was too good to pass up, with bluebird skies against those beautiful peaks the second shot is just before the glow faded and the sun rose warming everything up (including me)!

The Crystal Mill
Finally made it out here, as I drove this off road trail I had flashbacks of being a child and visiting. My dad loved off roading and would take my sister and I out on long single day adventures many times stopping at Coney island on the way home.

I can’t be certain if we ever explored this area but it felt familiar and having his Hasselblad in hand capturing this scene felt like he was with me. I’m excited to get the film back as it’s the last check to make sure the camera is fully functioning.

This was taken on my NikonUSA Z8 with a PolarPro® gold mist CPL filter using 3 Legged Thing Brian 2.0 tripod.
