Iceland, what a dream!

A bucket list trip I went on with my good friend Juan Andres Wulff to Iceland for a week. We lived in a van, cooked in epic places, hiked and swam in hotsprings, and there is so much more left to do I need to return!

15 years apart

The first photo I captured in November of 2011, the second was the Blood moon eclipse from March this year. Itโ€™s wild to think how long Iโ€™ve been capturing our world, 15 years of experience shows between these captures but there is still something special about that first one you ever capture. Forever chasing the moon, sun and stars!

Wet feet.

A cold Utah morning.

And a tripod that never left the bag.

These candy-striped hoodoos were worth every cold step getting there. Once I arrived, I had every intention of slowing down, setting up the tripod, and focus stacking a few compositions to keep everything sharp from foreground to background.

Then the cold convinced me otherwise.

Looking through the images now, I regret that decision just a little. There were several compositions here that would've been perfect for focus stacking, especially with the incredible textures, layers, and those precariously balanced rocks.

I suppose there's only one reasonable solution.

I'll have to go back. ๐Ÿ˜

The Lonesome Columbine

Came across the single columbine in all of The American Basin last week, I wandered searching for others finding Paint Brush blooming and Rudebekia in its final stages but no other Columbines. Iโ€™m happy I was here for late afternoon as the evening sunset and morning sunrise brought rain and lightening.
