I could have watched Larysa sketch for hours. ✨

Larysa is a Colorado artist from Alamosa, and I really enjoyed getting to chat with her about her work—how long it takes to create her intricate designs, what inspires her, and what she does with them once they’re finished.

Her pieces were beautiful and incredibly detailed, but honestly, watching her sketch was my favorite part. There’s just something really cool about watching someone turn an idea into something right in front of you, one little detail at a time.

As a photographer, I think I’m naturally drawn to that part of creativity—the little details and the story behind what we’re looking at.

Exploring Denver one adventure at a time—this week, the Denver Art Museum…

There’s something fascinating about discovering the artistry hidden in the everyday. ✨

During my visit, I relished learning how silverware has evolved not only as something functional, but also as a form of artistic expression. Between 1920 and 1940, electroplating techniques made it possible to bond a thin layer of silver to metal, helping make beautifully designed flatware more accessible.

Over time, shapes, textures, materials, and tiny details have transformed an ordinary utensil into something worthy of being displayed as art.

Sometimes art doesn’t have to be grand or dramatic. Sometimes, it’s sitting right there, in the palm of our hands.
