Directed and produced by Cynthia Cazanas Garin and featuring Colorado Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera, “Nothing Safer” follows incarcerated women who gain skills, self-esteem, and income by training rescue dogs in the Prison Trained K-9 Companion Program. Launched by Colorado Correctional Industries in 2002, the program helps inmates reintegrate into society while providing trained dogs for children with medical needs, giving both women and dogs a fresh start.

Sponsored by the Colorado Office of Film, Television & Media and supported by the University of Colorado Denver, “Nothing Safer” highlights the power of growth, redemption, and second chances.
