Fantasy, like all forms of art, brings us outside of ourselves. When Tolkien wrote The Lord of the Rings, he knew firsthand the necessity of escapism as he fought in WWI and experienced the horrors that goes along with that era. Now, almost 100 years later, we can escape into worlds like Middle Earth when we feel imprisoned by our reality 💛
