I was hired for a job about 5 hours away in East Texas earlier this week. I spent the night in Fort Parker State Park to ease the drive home a bit.

A little birding was on my to-do list when I woke up, and I was treated with this adorable wren pose by the lake 😊

Thrilled about this one!

You can hear from the white-winged doves and cardinal calls in the background that the birds are enjoying this dreary *almost* spring day. But I've been hearing a Bewick's wren in our backyard off and on for while, and I finally got a solid shot of his loud call!

We are so fortunate to have hardy little survivors like this in our neighborhoods 😊

We do not get white-crowned sparrows in our yard, but here he is! I guess the rainy days had him searching in some unusual places for lunch 😊😊😊

He was not shy and hung out right by our back porch for a bit while we enjoyed the sounds of the rain ☁️☔☁️
