I know it’s February but are we still talking about what we hope for the new year? I think so 🤭

I hope to embrace color more. After walking through grief and depression, I became very aware of how neutral or dark colors would make me feel more downcast almost immediately. I had to have a talk with myself and remember all the colors my mami (I think she would have been a great stylist, she knows so much about colors and fashion) has told me to wear to help brighten my complexion and features.
〰️
Somehow we have become scared of color. But what if color is what allows your outfit or your family’s wardrobe to showcase your unique flavor in this life?! What if color is that one element you are missing to tell your family’s story?

thank you for still being here and for all your support. this year was hard business wise. it was hard to meet goals while adjusting to being a mom of two. in some ways I’m a little disappointed and in others I’m so thankful for the hard days because those were the ones where the Lord’s presence felt the closest and his power was even more evident.

I look forward to 2025. I look forward to having the honor of documenting more of the every day in your families’ lives from a mama’s perspective and heart.

We all need some outfit inspo✨. For the little ones I suggest THREE things:

☁️ comfort: if they are wearing something uncomfortable, you will see it written all over their face the whole time.
☁️ keep it simple: mixing patterns is super fun to me but it can be overwhelming for other people. If this is you, keep it simple and use solid colors.☁️ add a little touch: whether it is a pop of color, combined textures, an accessory like cute bows or fun socks, it can go a long way to bring a whole family wardrobe together and portray your kiddos personality.

On how to get kiddos to enjoy pics more and not smile like the last pic 🥴😂😉

☁️ i know it must be muscle memory and a natural reflex, but the less we tell the kiddos to “cheese”, “look over here”, etc the more they will enjoy themselves and we can truly capture their little (or big 🤣) personalities.
☁️there’s no pressure, unless you put it on yourself. as the parent, I want you to enjoy yourself and let go of the “picture perfect” pressure.
☁️ let’s play! I want everyone to have fun. the more fun we have, the more everyone will enjoy themselves and you will see that in the photos 🥰

I didn’t always crave slower days and a slower pace. I come from a huge city (10million peeps) where we do everything with speed. I had to learn to slow down and even to this day I still have the tendency to want to move quickly.
〰️
I had quickly forgotten how the newborn days are some of the slowest. It’s been hard and sweet. Funny how things can be that way. But today I broke the monotonous routine and opened my computer for the first time in forever. Checked my email and film had come in (this pic is from one roll). It made me miss my work.
〰️
We are slowly coming back 🫶🏼. I’m booking now for end of August and beyond. DM to document your special, slow days with your familia.
