One of my favorite families to photograph. I began taking their photographs when the mom was pregnant with their daughter. Then, to my delight, I photographed their newborn daughter. I have been blessed to do the same with the arrival of their son and each year as they grow.

While we were in South Africa, we learned that when lions begin to yawn, they are about to get up. Trust me. We watched a lot of lions sleep. So seeing them yawn caused a stir of excitement from our group. Sure enough, this guy yawned several times and then got up.
