Jacksonville’s story has always been tied to the St. Johns River. Long before the skyline rose along its banks, the river helped shape the city into an important center for transportation, commerce and growth.
Founded in 1822, Jacksonville grew around this waterway, survived the devastating Great Fire of 1901, and rebuilt into the city we recognize today.
I wanted this image to capture both sides of Jacksonville—the energy of the skyline and the quiet presence of the river that has been there through it all. The soft reflections and calm water give a different perspective of a city usually defined by movement.

There is something remarkable about watching a place transform as morning arrives.
I arrived at the Daytona Beach Pier before sunrise, while the beach was still dark and the lights of the pier illuminated the shoreline. Over the next hour, the scene changed almost constantly. The first hints of color appeared along the horizon, the light slowly reached the water and the pier, and eventually the sun rose over the Atlantic.
These photographs were all taken during that morning. The same pier, the same ocean, yet no two moments looked quite the same.

The pier's history stretches back more than a century. An earlier pier, built from palm logs, extended about 600 feet into the Atlantic before fire destroyed much of it in 1920. The pier that followed opened in 1925, stretching 1,000 feet over the ocean and featuring the Pier Casino and an ornate ballroom that once hosted dances, weddings and community gatherings.
Today, that historic building has taken on a very different life. Instead of a ballroom filled with dancers, it is home to Joe's Crab Shack and The Roof, where visitors can eat overlooking the Atlantic. The purpose may have changed over the years, but the pier remains one of Daytona Beach's most recognizable landmarks.

Some places have a way of reminding you just how beautiful they are.
Being back in Northwest Arkansas last week, I got a few moments to photograph what makes this area so special—from Crystal Bridges to lake sunsets that completely transformed the evening sky.
I’ve photographed many places, but there’s something different about capturing a place that holds a piece of your own history. The same place can hold old memories while still giving you something entirely new to see.
These are a few moments from a place I once called home. ❤️

There's something special about being on the beach long before sunrise. It's quiet, peaceful, and for a few brief moments, it feels like you have the entire shoreline to yourself. Then the sky begins to change, painting the horizon with colors that will never be repeated in exactly the same way again..

The St. Johns River tells a different story of Florida.
Long before the highways, resorts, and growing cities, these waters wound their way through cypress forests and open marshes, shaping the landscape we know today.

These ancient cypress trees, calm waters, and endless reflections reveal a quieter side of the state, one shaped by time, resilience, and natural beauty.

Some of Florida's greatest treasures aren't found in the crowds. They're found in the quiet places that still feel untouched by time.
