My muse for the last dozen years or so. The Lone Cypress on 17-Mile Drive, Pebble Beach, CA. Estimated to be 250 years old and recently disfigured by a Pacific storm in 2019.

This is about a 220° panorama (9 individual long exposure shots) of the night sky, taken around midnight last Saturday in remote central Baja California, Mexico, at 5500 ft elevation, in the high desert near Mike's Sky Rancho (~100 miles southeast of Ensenada). The Milky Way arch is about 180° (I was right under the center) with the core of the galaxy (due south) on the right, and the Big Dipper (due northwest) on the left. This area has the darkest skies (during New Moon) in North America and the galaxy and stars were blazing.
