"September Glow", Somewhere in the Keweenaw, September 2, 2025, 2:14 a.m. My Aurora adventure began with an unplanned 500-mile drive. Overdosed on gas station apple juice and boiled eggs, I landed hours later dazed and confused on the Superior shore. I knew the space weather numbers were trending wrong, but I stayed on the shoreline hugging the lake anyway. I shot the Milky Way until a red glow appeared in the corner of one of my shots. And, then? The Aurora lifted up into the stars, settling around the trees, and lighting up the lake, and me.
