I’ve gone back and forth on sharing this.
Not whether I should — but how I should.

Silence has never been neutral.
And right now, the silence is deafening.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again:
weddings are political. They determine who can and can’t get married, whose love is recognized by their state and their country, and what rights people have with their partners.

Existence is political. Our lives are shaped by policy — where we can go, what we’re allowed to do, and how we move through the world. Without politics, I wouldn’t even be allowed to own my business.

This is not normal. Innocent people are being ripped from their families, dragged from their cars, and shot in the street.
People are being arrested and assaulted for protesting — our literal First Amendment right.

This is not the “worst of the worst.” This is discrimination and hate. This is a gross misuse of force against our families, our friends, our neighbors.
Nearly all of us are immigrants, whether we’re first, second, or twelfth generation.

This is not okay.
And I won’t pretend that it is.
