LMD Works: Photography and Art

LMD Works: Photography and Art Hello! Leslie here, an army veteran, photographer and entrepreneur. Like, Share, Inquire! Through all the years my favorite hobby was photography.

My name is Leslie Davis and this is the start of a new adventure with you! I served in the United States Army for 8+ years and completed my service as a Military Police Captain. I took photos for my college yearbook and my senior year got to be the Editor in Chief. That was a very rewarding day, holding the completed printed book. This last year, 2021, I completed my Certificate in Professional Ph

otography with the New York Institute of Photography. As a professional photographer with 15 years experience and continuing to hone my craft, I invite you to trust me as your life moments, documentary style photographer! Previously working with brides and grooms, military units, family portraits, and friends. I enjoy meeting my clients and helping them feel their best and help capture the memorable moments. Hoping that these photos make a lasting legacy for my clients. I enjoy traveling to new locations, cities and countries and photograph nearly everything in a documentary style. Working outdoors or indoors, monopolizing the natural light effects brings such joy and excitement. The light angles and time of day casts the light hues to also enhance the telling of a story in a moment. Now that I am located in SW Wyoming, I want to offer photography services to help create family legacy portraits. Generational connections, love, and adventures. I want to support the story telling desired to keep memories alive of our cherished elders, our precious little ones, and the in between stages of love, life, growth, and even loss. Time is precious and limited, Please consider me as your photographer to capture the moments worth remembering as your family legacy. Sincerely,

Leslie Davis

Last week I shared this photo in an artists' forum and thoroughly appreciated the discussion that ensued. Here is a composite image of two icons in the USA that can bring heated responses.

Acknowledging there can be conflict, I offer what this image means to me.

Much of who I am is shaped by a life of Faith in and relationship with Jesus Christ. I prefer how this weathered cross in the image can depict the raw reality of life and the journey that is worth living is not polished and untarnished. As an army veteran, I have an emotional response to the waving flag because I feel honored to have had the opportunity to serve and learn how to defend those I love. The combination of the two icons do add conflict and I'm willing to sit with that and ponder. For me. Jesus matters more. Both represent important pieces to my life but they also do not define me as a whole. I do not rally behind group think and mass manipulation and I acknowledge that there is personal and greater history where both icons have been used in vain for personal gain by selfish and maybe even evil characters.

These two icons were photographed in Rock Springs, WY this summer and this image is my attempt to imitate another image I saw years ago of the two in a single shot, but the wind was not cooperating with me. Thankful for Photoshop and Lightroom to edit and create an image that can provoke a response.

This spring the project was to set up the studio in the backyard she shed. After painting and then setting up the space, and buying a window AC unit, the space is wonderful for taking photos and editing photos! I’m looking forward to offering studio sessions here!

LMD Works FINALLY has a website under construction!

This 2026 year, I keep reminding myself that I just need to "Start Somewhere"! This has essentially been my motto since January. After moving numerous times in my life, it is a huge change to officially be setting roots somewhere. This is also a big move to really decide to build a website and not just use social media.

Thank you for your support and encouragement as I continue to grow as a creative and skill build, as well as, journey through life to this point.

What significance does a chair hold? Can you remember a favorite chair you sat on as a child?
I'm excited that I found this rustic child's rocking chair this weekend while out with my family. My son loved it! We had to try it out in our home studio!
Could you see your child in this chair?
