🏛️ Thank you to everyone who joined Decatur Councilwoman Pam Werstler for tonight’s District 4 Town Hall at the Decatur Recreation Center!

As part of the D4 Learning Series, Dane Shaw discussed public rights-of-way and easements, while Hunter Allen shared information about the new Rec Center. Mayor Kent Lawrence also offered remarks, and Pam answered questions from residents and highlighted InsideDECATUR, where citizens can watch videos of City Council and departmental meetings.

Thank you to everyone who participated in keeping our community informed and engaged!

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for the Singing River Trail with the unveiling of the Athens Swan Creek Trail sign! This is another step toward creating spaces that connect our communities, celebrate our natural beauty, and encourage people to get outside and explore.

We’re excited to see the Singing River Trail vision continue to take shape in Athens and across the region. Here’s to more opportunities to connect with nature, discover our communities, and enjoy the trails that bring us together!

🍁🇩🇪 Cullman Oktoberfest! 🇩🇪🍺

Another Oktoberfest is coming to a close tonight, and once again, I’ve had a great time capturing the sights, sounds, and spirit of this wonderful celebration!

Oktoberfest is such a great family-friendly cultural experience, with German food, music, dancing, traditions, and plenty of fun for everyone. 🇩🇪🎶

For me, it’s also a little bit of a reunion. Being from Germany, I always enjoy going back to Cullman for this event and getting to experience a little taste of home while capturing the highlights through my camera. 📸

Thanks to everyone who makes this celebration so special! I’m already looking forward to the next time around. Until then… Prost! 🍻

🏡 A New Home. A New Beginning. A Dream Realized. 💙

Today, Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County celebrated a very special milestone—the dedication of a new Habitat home for homebuyer Temeka Bouldin! 🎉

Friends, family, volunteers, supporters, and members of the community gathered at Heritage Creek in Decatur to celebrate this exciting new chapter in Temeka’s life.

A Habitat home is so much more than four walls and a roof. It represents hard work, hope, community, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. ❤️

Congratulations, Temeka! May your new home be filled with countless happy memories for years to come. 🏡✨

Special thanks to Alpha Foundation, GreenPoint Ag, Publix Charities, St. John's Episcopal Church, Rotary Club of Decatur Daybreak, and Good Golly Garage Door Alabama, whose generous support helped turn Temeka’s dream of homeownership into a reality.

Beyond the celebration, Power of Pink raises funds to support cancer care and women’s health at Decatur Morgan Hospital, helping bring advanced technology and resources to patients in our community.

From the first guests arriving to the final moments of the fashion show, there was no shortage of moments worth capturing.
