Finally we can do fun things to carousels in this dang app!!

These shots are from a lovely morning with Jacqui and Andrew all the way from my home state of New Jersey.

People come to me from all over the world which is just so freaking cool. But I get irrationally excited to hang with people from the northeast. I think it’s the mutual love of bagels.

The west coast has yet to impress 🥯

Some things that amazed me on Katie & Anthony’s elopement day:

1. The light. The whole day was a photographer’s dream, but the sunset was next level. The Dome Fire started earlier that same day so we had clear skies right up until we reached Taft Point. That smoke gave us insane lighting conditions!

2. The ravens. They are a constant presence in both Yosemite and Death Valley, but they’ve never showed up in photos like they did here. I’m saving some for another post about SIGNS so get your woo woo hats on.

3. Katie’s dress. It was inspired by Christine in Phantom of the Opera and that’s just the best kind of romantic, personalized detail! My inner princess was sighing happily all day.

4. Their generosity and warmth. They invited me to join them and their families for lunch at The Ahwahnee. I felt so welcomed. And they were constantly checking in to make sure I was taken care of.

Happy 136th birthday to Yosemite National Park!

I will neverrrr get sick of these views. A few weeks ago she provided the most perfect setting for Rachel and Amer’s wedding.

They watched the sun rise over the valley from the top of Sentinel Dome, made their way to Tunnel View and Bridalveil Falls, and said their vows at sunset next to Tenaya Lake.

Not a drop of daylight was wasted (which is the correct way to do Yosemite in my opinion).

Here’s to a lifetime of happiness for Rachel and Amer, and another 136+ years of unimpaired preservation for Yosemite 🥂

After their ceremony, when all the guests had returned to the hotel for dinner, Josh and Lena had a precious few quiet minutes together.

They reveled in their newlywed status with a hazy sunset behind them. Their exuberance and passion was straight out of a movie. Wishing these two so much happiness back in Chicago!

This wasn’t plan A. Unfortunately a family health emergency (they’re okay!) forced Jenna and Derek to pivot from 25 guests to zero.

They immediately saw the silver lining. No guests? That means we can go EVERYWHERE!

And so we did.

Nature rewarded them big time. Their Yosemite elopement had everything you could want to see in the park: the most gorgeous sunrise, blooming wildflowers, flowing waterfalls, clear skies, lush meadows, breathtaking views of the granite, and an equally gorgeous sunset.

They eventually went on to celebrate with their loved ones in their hometowns. I’m so glad they still had the Yosemite adventure of their dreams 🫶
