Over the winter, a friend posted some pictures of a location that caught my attention. The fallen weathered trees added to a scene that I had not found in my numerous location scouting expeditions. I gave my most trustworthy model a call and we were off to shoot. We've nicknamed the location "Jurassic Beach". The location and model did not disappoint.

Who doesn't love a beautiful sunset? This picture was shot a while back. I was attempting to take photos of the launch of an Anteries rocket from the NASA Wallops Island Flight Facility. However, the launch was scrubbed with less than a minute before takeoff. All was not lost as this amazing sunset developed over the Chincoteague Bay Inlet.

The Chincoteague Waterman's Memorial is located at Mariner's Point on the south end of Chincoteague just past the harbor. A large cross stands in honor of all local waterman and military servicemen who were lost at sea. The memorial park is truly a hidden gem on the island and one of my favorite places to watch the sunset.

It’s 2022 and it’s time to change some things up. For the last 10 years I’ve mainly practiced photography as a hobby primarily focusing on portrait photography. Though I’ve only shared my portrait photography with others, I have made many non-portrait photographs over the years.

Last year my significant other, Christine, convinced me to share some of my “scenic” photos. I was apprehensive. Every picture I share is a reflection of how I see something or someone. Putting my photographic eye out there was a little scary. I don't consider myself a landscape photographer and with so many talented photographers, it’s hard to not compare your work to theirs.

With reluctance, I combed through many of my photos and picked a small handful that I was willing to share. I printed, matted, and offered for sale this small collection at our local artisans market and other art and craft shows. I received many compliments on my photography. I even witnessed the power of a photo when I watched someone shed tears when they were viewing one of my images.

All of that to announce that in addition to my portrait work, I will begin to share some of my scenic photography. I’ve also been working on some new projects that I will share when the time is right. I hope you continue to enjoy my photos and please let me know if any move you. I always enjoy hearing the stories of what my photography means to others.

Shew… today did not go as planned. The wind was crazy! We thought we would be ok with 100 lbs of sand bags plus another 35 lbs in metal grid walls holding the canopy down. Well, we were WRONG! The winds were just too great for the canopy so we took it down. Then the wind starting pushing our tables around. Needless to say, after a few photos were damaged and countless other items from Harbor Hill Gifts & Decor were blown off the tables, we decided to throw in the towel and pack it up after only an hour or so into the show.

We made out much better than many of the other vendors. It was terrible seeing all of their hard work crashing and breaking from the wind. Thanks for everyone who came out. It was shaping up to be a good day with a couple prints selling quick. We will be back at it on Friday from 5-8 at Salisbury’s 3rd Friday Downtown. Come by and see us.
