It's been a while since I've shared some of my photography, so I figure I'll share of my more "staged" shots.
The phone was just a spur-of-the-moment idea. I used my old phone with the flashlight on to create a varied background for the shot... thought it turned out pretty neat.
The gun is an airsoft toy, with the orange tip edited out. I used a long exposure, taking my phone's screen with a color app to manually light the shot with red and blue, and a water bottle full of red drink mix to simulate blood. I got inspired by those little stock images on the news when they talk about crime.
The blue flower was an apple blossom at night, lit using a long exposure and a blue color on my phone screen again. With a modern camera you can get a "live preview" of what your photo will look like, so I experimented with holding my phone at different lengths and at varying angles relative to the flowers in order to get a balanced exposure.
Eventually I want to do more object photography like this... just waiting for new "spur of the moment" ideas to form in my head :)
