Is having an impact important to you? This was our question last week. I got to do some traveling this past week to play with an orchestra. We had a children's concert and one of my section mates mentioned how one of the melodies I played could be what inspired the next generation. I had to take a second and absorb that. I often think 'making an impact' requires some grand gesture or important event but he reminded me that it can be as simple as a well-played melody.
