Hey friends! It feels like forever. I've had a difficult health journey the past few years that has put a halt to my photography. I miss it very much but I try to never lose hope... with that said here I was able to quickly capture this very cool threat display by this male Darth Vader mantis (Parablepharis kuhlii) and yes it's a handheld focus stack. What do you guys think?

The dragon stance! One of the most beautiful and unique mantises is the rare Peruvian Dragon Mantis (Stenophylla lobivertex). This is the sub-adult stage just before they get their wings.

An adult female Ghost Mantis (Phyllocrania paradoxa), a very alien looking mantis that is a common yet beautiful species of mantis that camouflages as dry leaves of different colors.
