There is just something so magical about a summer evening at Cox Arboretum. From the lush greenery to the golden light filtering through the trees, it was the perfect backdrop to celebrate this sweet season of their lives together.

These two were so fun, and I loved getting to spend the evening getting to know them before their wedding day. Engagement sessions are about so much more than beautiful photos, they’re a chance to slow down, have fun together, and get comfortable before the big day.

Now the countdown is officially on, and I cannot wait to celebrate with them at their wedding later this year! It’s going to be such a beautiful day, and I already know it’s going to be filled with so much love.

A little pinch-me moment today..

I’m honored to be featured in a magazine article and have the opportunity to share more about my journey, my business, and the heart behind what I do.

As I reflected on the past 10 years, I found myself thinking about where it all started, a girl with a camera, a dream, and a whole lot of determination. From photographing friends and families, to assisting weddings for free just to learn, to eventually building a business that now allows me to serve incredible couples and families full time, it has been quite the journey.

Building Cassandra Janina Photography has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge, late night, wedding day, and client I’ve had the privilege of serving has helped shape the business I have today.

I’m so grateful to my clients, friends, family, fellow vendors, and everyone who has supported me along the way. None of this would be possible without you.

Some moments are worth remembering forever, and this was definitely one of them.

Back in March, Victor reached out to me with a plan to surprise Amy with a proposal in downtown Cincinnati. From carefully choosing the location to coordinating every detail, it was obvious how much thought, intention, and love he poured into creating the perfect moment for her.

Amy thought they were heading downtown for “family photos,” completely unaware that one of the biggest moments of her life was just minutes away. As they walked together with the Cincinnati skyline surrounding them, Victor got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him.

What made it even more special was having his parents and sister there to witness the moment and celebrate alongside them immediately afterward. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight, and it was such a beautiful reminder of how love brings families together.

Being trusted to document milestones like these is something I never take for granted. Watching their excitement, joy, and genuine love for one another was incredibly special, and I left that evening feeling so honored to have been a small part of their story.

And now I am counting down the days until I get to document the next chapter of their journey together. Victor & Amy, thank you for trusting me with these memories. I cannot wait to celebrate alongside you and capture your wedding day.

There’s something about a March wedding that just feels like the start of something new and MacKenzie and Joe’s day was exactly that.

Set inside the stunning , every part of their day felt timeless and full of intention. The architecture, the light pouring through the windows, the softness of early spring, it all came together so beautifully for a day that felt both elegant and incredibly personal.

MacKenzie and Joe are the kind of couple that make you feel lucky to do what you do. So genuine, so present, and completely wrapped up in each other in the sweetest way. They were surrounded by the most incredible bridal party and families who brought so much love, energy, and support into every moment of the day.

One of the most meaningful parts, Joe’s father had the honor of officiating their ceremony. There is just something so special about being married by someone who knows you so deeply. It added a layer of emotion that you could truly feel in the room.

And of course, we can’t forget Wilson.
Their sweet pup showed up in the most adorable little tux and absolutely stole the show. The perfect touch to a day that already felt so full of personality and love.

A day that was beautiful in every sense of the word, but even more so because of the people at the center of it.

Congratulations, MacKenzie and Joe. What a beginning!

It’s wedding day for Mackenzie and Joe.

Today is the day the planning turns into memories, the nerves turn into excitement, and two people promise forever. There will be quiet moments, joyful tears, big hugs, and a dance floor that will probably stay full all night.

I feel so lucky to be there to document it all.

One word. Incredible.

From the very first call with Jennifer and Jordan, I had a feeling their wedding day was going to be something special. Some couples just have that energy about them, and these two absolutely did.

Their day was everything I hoped it would be and more. A beautiful February day with the sun shining, a warm breeze by the river, and a venue that could not have been more perfect for them. But more than anything, it was the people. The love from their families, the joy in every moment, and the way everyone showed up for them made the whole day feel so meaningful.

Jennifer and Jordan are the kind of couple that remind me why I love photographing weddings so much. Being trusted to document a day like this is never something I take lightly.

At one point I joked that their family should just adopt me because I loved them all so much, and honestly I meant it.

Jennifer and Jordan, congratulations on the beginning of your marriage. I cannot wait to see where life takes you both next.

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is seeing couples honor where they come from.

This dance is called Tinikling, a traditional Filipino dance, and watching it unfold on a wedding day was incredibly special. As someone who is Filipino and didn’t incorporate my own culture into my wedding, moments like this always stay with me a little longer.

Looking back, I wish I had allowed space for something that felt different. Something that reflected my roots, my family, my story.

Your wedding day doesn’t have to follow a formula. If you have the opportunity to weave in your culture, your traditions, or something meaningful to you, I truly encourage it. Those moments don’t just stand out. They become part of the legacy you’re creating.
