This young man holds a special place in my heart and on my prayer list. He has moved on to college where he continues to chase his dreams. I am so proud of his character, he is kind, thoughtful and driven. He is a dedicated runner and a top academic. I know his future is bright!

Did you know that this week is National Women and Girls in Sports Week? Not that these amazing ladies need a special week- because we should be celebrating them every week, but I couldn't let this go by without taking a moment to acknowledge the Senior Class Basketball players and Cheerleaders from Davenport High School. These 7 young women are literally amazing people and I am so proud to live in a community filled with smart capable people like they are.

There are not enough words to thank the amazing families in Davenport who have stepped up to come together to help make sure that the senior class knows they are absolutely amazing! In between a couple of great photo sessions today I got to work with some awesome people to get posters hung up for 20 of our senior student athletes

It’s a bittersweet day. Today is the 1st game of my son’s Senior Season. He stepped on the field as the smallest kid on the team at 6 years old. Special shoulder pads were ordered, he got knocked down, ran over & bruised. But every single time he got back up. He learned how to use his size to take down people literally twice his size. He has been doubted by a coach or two along the way but he has proven them wrong with his tenacity. He has more football knowledge than most grown men and a quiet resolve that encourages his teammates to trust him. This young man has overcome barriers that most will never understand and I for one could not be more proud of who he is and who he will become. Pressure creates diamonds. 2,33,54

Today was a very special day. I had the honor of taking the portraits of the Senior’s on the football team. Less than a half dozen home games for these kids. I hope they enjoy every single second of it. These memories will have to last them a whole lifetime
