I’m Brianna Wellman, a custom photographer in the Quad Cities offering a boutique photography experience, along with custom digital design services for work and home! There are a lot of really exciting things happening in my business right now, but those are also the easiest things to share here.

👋🏻 If we haven’t met, I’m Bri...founder of The BuildHER Co., photographer, wife and mom of two trying to figure out how to build something I’m proud of while still being present for the people I’m building it for.

I wanted the freedom to be home with my kids, but I also want them to grow up watching their mom take risks, work hard and build something that hopefully leaves a legacy for them someday.

Turns out you can be incredibly happy with where you are and still be figuring some of it out. ❤️

Walking into Root & Rise | Pelvic Floor Therapy felt like reveal day on Fixer Upper ✨

Rachel Thompson and Laiken McAleer shared some of the “before” photos with me, and last week I got to walk through the doors and see what they created out of this space. I'm SO incredibly honored to help them show it off!

Every little corner feels intentional...the cozy treatment rooms, the artwork, the tiny little details and yes, even the b**b decor 😂

They didn’t just renovate an office. They created a space designed for women to feel comfortable, welcomed and supported while they thrive.

I am absolutely LOVING Brick & Mortar sessions lately. Your physical space tells part of your brand story before someone ever meets you, and there is so much value (especially in medical spaces) in showing people what it actually feels like to walk through your doors.

Congratulations, Root + Rise Therapy Studio 🤎 Getting to document this space as you get ready to welcome the women of DeWitt and beyond was such a treat. They’re celebrating their Grand Opening this Wednesday, so go see this gorgeous space for yourself!

Your product photos shouldn’t always fill the entire frame. Sometimes the most useful part of an image is actually the space you didn’t fill 👀

Leaving intentional blank space around your product gives you room to actually use that photo.

A tight, perfectly composed image might look beautiful on its own...but if there’s nowhere to put anything around it, you’ve already limited what that image can do for your brand.

“I almost didn’t go” …honestly, how many times have we all thought that before walking into a networking event where we don’t know anyone? 😅

That was something Elaine shared with me after our very first BuildHER Social, and it’s exactly why I wanted this event to feel different.

You don’t have to walk into a room and figure out where to stand. You don’t have to find a way into a conversation that’s already happening. You don’t have to bring a friend just so you have someone to talk to. You just show up. 🤍

I’ll make the introductions, pair you with another woman in business, give you something to talk about, and switch up our partners throughout the evening so you actually have the chance to make new connections.
And in ONE WEEK, we get to do it all over again!

Someone could drive past your business every single day and still have absolutely no idea what it feels like to walk through your doors.

They haven't noticed the little details you spent months choosing. They don't know how welcoming your team is when someone walks in. They haven't seen the corner everyone comments on, watched you actually do what you do or experienced all of the personality you've poured into the space.

👋🏻 If we haven't met - I'm Bri, an Iowa brand photographer, and Brick + Mortar sessions have quickly become one of my favorite ways to tell the story of a local business.

We absolutely photograph the beautiful space, but I want more than that. I want someone scrolling Instagram to be able to picture themselves standing inside it. I want them to recognize the owner when they walk through the door for the first time. I want the photos to answer some of that little uncertainty we all feel before trying somewhere new and replace it with, “Ohhh, I want to go there" ...and that's exactly what we did for Grizzly Rose Co. in Cedar Falls!

Your physical space is a huge part of your brand. It deserves to show up online like one.

Before you ever photograph a product, you need to know where those images are going.

Your website. Email campaigns. Paid ads. Product listings. Wholesale materials. Launch graphics. Print pieces. Okay and yes…social media too.

Where an image needs to live will absolutely change how it should be photographed. The orientation, composition, negative space, styling, details captured, it should all have a purpose. Professional product photography shouldn’t just give you a prettier Instagram feed. It should give you a library of images that works across your entire business. If you’re ready for photos that do more than look pretty? I’m your girl 📸

This is exactly why I launched BuildHER Brick & Mortar...because so many incredible Quad City businesses look amazing in person, but their online presence doesn’t fully reflect that vibe.

This morning was all about capturing the space, the details, and the incredible experience clients actually walk into at PURE! Now they can show up consistently on social, Google, and beyond without having to think twice about content.
