I loved photographing this sweet family!
One of my FAVORITE things about my current studio is something so simple… standing photos! If you remember my old Bettendorf studio, the ceilings were just barely over 7 feet, so standing family photos weren’t really an option.
Now I have the space AND the light, and I seriously love what it has added to newborn galleries. Especially lately with toddlers! Sometimes standing, snuggling, moving around, and letting them be themselves is exactly how I get the best smiles.
And can we please appreciate the photo of big sister just DONE with pictures while big brother happily holds his baby sister?!
Those are the photos I LOVE when families choose. Of course we want the smiling-at-the-camera family photo, but give me the toddler moments too. The pouts. The silliness. The “I’m over this” moments. That’s real life at this age, and just imagine pulling that photo out when they’re 16 and showing them how they behaved at their new baby sister’s newborn session.
Perfect photos are beautiful. But the ones with a little personality? Those usually end up being the most fun to remember.
