Small business and entrepreneurship have always been woven into my life. I grew up watching my parents work hard, serve with integrity, and pour themselves into our community in ways that made it a better place.
Sixteen years into owning my own business, I see it now more clearly than ever: what a gift it is to build something that reflects who we are and what we value.
Culture is shaped in living rooms, at kitchen tables, in storefronts, behind counters, and in conversations with the people right in front of us. The way we love and serve in our businesses truly matters.
Because every small business either strengthens a community—or weakens it.
So as we move through this holiday season, small business owners, I want to gently encourage you to take a fresh look at how you’re running yours.
Are you serving from a place of genuine care?
Are you using your business to bless your family and the people you cross paths with?
Are you offering excellence, skill, and empathy?
Are you meeting needs with humility, kindness, and intentionality?
And for my fellow Christian business owners—would anyone know you follow Jesus by how you do business? By the way you serve, listen, honor commitments, and care for people?
May our businesses be places of joy.
Places of hospitality.
Places of faithful service.
Places where the world feels more hopeful in this Advent season because of how well we love Jesus and others.
If you’re a small business and this resonates with you, I’d love to connect. I show up this space most often to showcase the beautiful families I serve with photography. My husband and I run a separate small business, Salt Marsh Digital, where we help small businesses scale with confidence through modern branding, business strategy, streamlined systems, and custom built websites and tools tailored to your next level of growth.
We’d love to partner with you to make 2026 your most impactful year yet.
