It’s crazy to think that the things I’m most grateful for today are things I couldn’t even find words to dream up years ago. Things like:
-seeing my college boy walk through the door on the weekends with an overflowing laundry basket of dirty clothes. Watching him navigate his future, tackle ideas and projects that interest him, and knowing we’ve created a home he loves to come home to fills my heart. He gives hugs freely and instinctively and seeing him do that always makes me think of my mom, I’m sure this is a trait he picked up from her❤️
-realizing that a teenage daughter is actually a built in bestie for life. She keeps me in check in all aspects of life and is the most dramatic, yet chill and calm, and somehow also the most positive person I know?! Watching her tirelessly put in the work during the off season every single day to then start to see glimpses of the well earned confidence and leadership in her that I knew was there all along but have been praying for her to find has been a gift.
—the baby of the family who is full of surprises. I feel like at every stage with him we unlock a new personality trait that I didn’t realize he possessed. He can be reserved at times, but is actually one of our most social kids with his peers. He has a stoic, almost quiet confidence within himself that we got to see during tough moments on the baseball mound this summer but he never lost his cool, and never gave up.
-and of course, the husband who lets me be a passenger princess in this crazy ride of life (but who is smart enough to let me pretend to be in charge!)☺️
Happy thanksgiving, friends!
