I set out the other night when i was notified of a small chance at seeing a weak aurora display. I left a camera out running for a few hours and was delighted to find that i had captured a SAR arch. Also known as "Stable Aurora Red" along with a nice Quadrantid Meteor streaking across the night sky!

Sunday of The Ramble Festival was a truly spectacular day! With vibes running high throughout the weekend, the final day of the festival was bound for even more incredible moments. I didn't get a chance to capture as many musical performances as I wanted to this day. I did however take a few moments to highlight the wonderful artist that grace the grounds of Camp Ramblewood. Please tag your artist friends and remember to always support the art community on and off of the stage. See ya next year Ramble Fam and until then...BE KIND!

I took a little stroll last weekend while at The Ramble Festival to capture Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS passing by an old barn located just outside the festival grounds. This was my first time photographing a comet with a foreground and I'm really happy with the results! It was nice to step away from my media team duties to have a quiet moment with this new visitor to our evening skies!

Welp.... last night was nothing short of spectacular and it's really tough to put the experience into words, but here it goes...
Thursday night and into Friday morning the sun unleashed multiple CME's also known as Coronal Mass Ejections into the atmosphere. This wave of plasma headed for our planet left many aurora chasers on the edge of their seats throughout the weekend and kind of took its time getting here. I was starting to lose hope as the work week got started until the data spiked last night just before sundown. What happened next was totally mind blowing as a (SAR) or Stable Aurora Red ached from east to west like a rainbow in the night sky. This was super cool but not your typical northern lights show as no pillars or green could be seen to the north from my location here in Baltimore County. That all changed around midnight when the skies ignited with color right before my eyes! Thats right, I for the first time could without a doubt see the lights dancing with my own eyes! I took many photos last night and have a lot to process.....I also need some sleep! More to come soon on this unbelievable night!
