Now that it’s warm enough to romanticize winter, I thought I would share some of the amazing photos we got after this year’s extended freeze.

I always comment my clients that are willing to stick it out in 30° weather! This was an especially long one with 7 dogs to photograph. Thanks to my pack of hand warmers and heated vest, all went well on that front.

Excited to do it again soon! Hopefully we’ll have just as much snow next year.

“Always get the photo.”

We hear it all the time, but sometimes it feels kind of dramatic especially for a young dog.

This session with Aubrie and Snitch was just like any other. Movement, stacks, and a few portraits for this up and coming stud dog. The kind of photoshoot you go into thinking there will be plenty more just like it.

Just a few days later, snitch tore his CCL.

Now this whole album feels different. Not sad, just more meaningful. Moving freely, showing off everything he is. He’s doing well and on the road to recovery, but it may take a lot of physical therapy and time before he moves returns to his former glory.

We are sending him our best wishes for a speedy recovery! He’ll be back out there in no time💕

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of meeting Curie and her mom, Megan. I’ll be honest, I went into it thinking, “okay… Shiba… we’ll see how this goes.”

If you know the breed, you know they tend to be a little more independent, sometimes selective about who they’re interested in. I was fully expecting to have to work for that connection, both with me and the camera.

Curie had other plans.

She carried herself like all the attention was exactly where it should be, on her! Open, friendly, and so effortlessly confident. I can’t wait to see more of Curie and her “brother” when he’s back in full coat
