This is what a media day actually looks like.

Studio lighting set up inside the gym. Smoke machine. A system that keeps athletes moving through efficiently so nobody is standing around for an hour waiting on their turn. A lineup ready to go while the current athlete is still in front of the camera.

This isn't a point-and-shoot operation. It's a production.

The finished photos look the way they do because of what goes into the setup before the first athlete ever steps in front of the camera. The light, the environment, and the pace are all intentional.

That's the difference between photos that end up on the booster club page and photos that end up on a banner in the gym.

I had the amazing opportunity to photograph Selección Española de Fútbol (SeFutbol) train in Chattanooga this evening. This is sport at the highest possible level, and seeing athletes like David Raya (Arsenal), Rodri (Man City), Pedri (Barci), Nico Williams (Athletic), and of course Lamine Yamal up close was incredible.

It will be fun watching La Roja in their quest for a second World Cup this summer!

Martial arts isn't something Joshua does after school.

It's who he is.

Years of training. Discipline that most people his age don't have. A commitment to something hard that started long before high school and will keep going long after graduation.

That deserved to be the center of his senior session, not a backdrop for it.

So we built the whole thing around it. Black background. Clean light. Nothing between him and what he's spent years becoming.

That's the kind of senior portrait worth making.

Fall athletic seasons will be here before most programs are ready for them. Media day is one of the first things on the schedule, and the teams that plan ahead are the ones that show up looking like they mean it.

At TriStar Visuals, I work directly with coaches and athletic directors to plan and execute a media day that fits your team's schedule and delivers portraits every athlete and their family will be proud of. Most athletic programs are juggling three or four different vendors for photography alone.

One company does team photos. Another does action. Someone else handles senior night. The booster club finds a parent with a nice camera for the rest. Every vendor has a different process, a different turnaround and different quality. Nobody is talking to each other. And the AD is the one fielding all the calls.

TSV is built to replace all of it.
