"Goodnight Worm Moon" captured last year. An inspiration for you all hoping to catch the Full Blood Moon on the morning of March 3rd. Unfortunately I will be in surgery on Monday and laid up for a bit with a Total Knee Arthroplasty. That said, let's see all those captures. This year the lunar eclipse starts around 3am and lasts until the moon sets at 6am.

Easy "tell" when someone does not want to be in a photograph. I captured this the other day and thought it was too funny not to share. Enjoy

I love it when the crescent moon gets close enough to the horizon and setting sun to show off its earthshine. These images were captured last night after the sun had set. Same moon at 800mm, two different exposures.

"Stony Brook’s Frozen Whisper" is just a simple winter forest where snow blankets the ground and stream, creating smooth, flowing shapes that contrast with the rugged textures beneath. Stony Brook meanders through the scene, reflecting the sunlight filtering gently through the evergreen branches. This photograph invites you to experience the quiet beauty and tranquil stillness of snowy woodland's of New Hampshire while bathed in the soft winter light.

"Sleigh Bells Beneath Washington's Veil" carries a quiet resonance, where the stillness of snow softens every sound except the faint ringing of sleigh bells on a frozen path. Two draw horses press forward, their breath visible in the crisp air, drawing a sleigh past the Omni Mt. Washington Resort. Evergreens stand like sentinels, framing the scene against Mount Washington. This piece invites you into a winter world as familiar as a greeting card while the landscape breathes with a subtle, mysterious life just beneath the surface. This is an exploration of calm under the vast, watchful sky, where every detail carries the weight of quiet wonder.

"Beneath the Veiled Snow Moon" this cold night unfolded like a mystery. The moon, veiled yet luminous, casts a subtle glow that breathes mystery into the deep blues and purples of the rugged presidential range. I saw the pink clouds from the distant ocean storm had hoped that by the time the moon rose above the peaks I would be able to see it. About 40 minutes after the moonrise, It appeared next to Mount Clay shrouded by the clouds I saw earlier. Not what I was hoping for, but I'll take it.

While taking a few test shots the other night while waiting for the Aurora. I grabbed a quick shot of Orion the Hunter to the south of me. Even at 34mm you can start to make out M42, the Orion Nebula. Enjoy

"Celestial Currents Over Mirror Lake" captures a luminous conversation between earth and sky beneath the veil of darkness. The scene unfolds where green and red auroras ripple in fluid arcs, their vibrant glow drawing attention upward into a brilliant star field. These celestial ribbons ever pulsing, tracing invisible currents that dance across the horizon and breathe life into the night. The stillness of the frozen expanse stretches out beneath this amazing spectacle, its muted surface reflecting the subtle warmth of house lights nestled near the woods as well as soft hints of the splendor above. Together, these elements form a contemplative vista where the mysteries of light and landscape intertwine, inviting a pause to witness the delicate balance between fleeting luminosity and the enduring calm of winter’s embrace.

Smoke-Hazed Glow on Twilight Ridge
A blast back to August 4th 2025 for those jonesing for summer weather. The smoke from Canadian wild fires made the setting sun a fiery red on an eerie grey backdrop. But it gave us all a few days of amazing sunsets. I love how the sunspots became visible. Shot at 460mm | f8.0 | 1/250s | ISO 400
