SBM director Tramaine Townsend revisits his Crown Royal film with a new director’s cut, re-edited alongside DP Justin Hamilton.

Originally filmed around the Bill Pickett Rodeo’s Juneteenth celebration in Fort Worth, the project celebrates Black cowboy culture, its heritage, and the community carrying it forward.

Echoes of Mandela - Tramaine Townsend for the African American Museum, Dallas. Tramaine Townsend

Parts of the visual film commissioned by the African American Museum, projected on the museum’s facade for one night to commemorate the opening of the Nelson Mandela exhibition. Video portraits  captured during an individual interview session of the Mandela 12, a group of African American leaders mobilizing to help fundraise for the exhibition’s first-ever presentation in Dallas.
