Your family isn’t exactly the same as it was last year—so your photos don’t have to be, either.

You don’t have to choose the same location.
You don’t have to wear the same kind of outfits.
And your session definitely doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

Maybe right now looks like slow mornings at home, Saturday pancakes, backyard baseball, neighborhood walks, or piling onto the couch with the people you love most.

Whatever this season looks like for your family, let’s photograph that.

And please don’t be shy about sharing your ideas with me—even if they feel a little different or aren’t fully formed yet.
Or, if you know you want something that feels more like your family but aren’t sure what that could look like, ask me! I’d love to help you dream up a session that fits your life right now.

Not what feels trendy.
Not what you think family photos are “supposed” to look like.

Your real life, right now—because this version of your family deserves to be remembered, too. ✨

“Just a mom” feels like a pretty incomplete job description.

Today alone, I’ve worked in waste management, home organization, laundry relocation, magnetic structure construction, and Playmobil search-and-rescue.

And my shift is apparently…never over. 😂

What highly specialized position would you add to the mom résumé?

The number of photos on your camera roll isn’t the real problem.

The problem is that no one ever gave you a realistic system for managing them.

So every new photo gets added to the thousands already waiting—until organizing your family memories feels like a project you’ll never have enough time to tackle.

But you do not need to organize every photo you’ve ever taken.

Start with this week.

Set a timer for 15 minutes. Delete the obvious clutter, favorite the moments that matter and make sure they’re safely backed up.

Then do it again next week.

That small rhythm is what keeps today’s photos from becoming tomorrow’s overwhelming camera roll—and eventually helps those memories make it off your phone and into your family’s hands.

I walk you through the complete process inside my free LSP Legacy Photo System.

Comment LEGACY and I’ll send you a copy. 🤍

Save this post for your next camera-roll reset—and share it with a mom who has thousands of memories waiting on her phone.

→ Choose the photos that actually matter
→ Safely back up the memories you don’t want to lose

I don’t organize and print our family photos because I have the time.

I do it because someday, my boys will want to see the life we shared before they were old enough to remember it all.

The ordinary afternoons.
The missing teeth.
The favorite pajamas.
The way they looked at one another when they were little.

I don’t want those memories to disappear into an old phone, a forgotten cloud account or thousands of files no one knows how to find.

I want them to have a home.

That’s why I created The Family Legacy Photo System—a simple, realistic process to help you organize, protect and actually enjoy your family photos without trying to tackle everything at once.

It’s completely FREE and available tomorrow!

As a professional photographer, I obviously believe deeply in getting your family in front of the camera.

But the truth is, some of the photographs your children will treasure most were never professionally taken.

They’re the pictures of Saturday-morning pancakes, couch forts, messy bedrooms, belly laughs and little faces doing the ordinary things you didn’t realize you would miss.

They might be blurry.

The lighting might be terrible.

Everyone might still be wearing pajamas.

But they tell the story of what your family actually felt like in this season.

Your children won’t care which camera you used. They’ll care that you kept the photograph—and that someday, they can hold it in their hands.

Today, open your camera roll and choose one ordinary photograph from this week that you never want to lose. Favorite it, back it up and make a plan to print it.

That is how a family legacy begins: one meaningful photograph at a time.

The free LSP Legacy Photo System is coming Friday to help you create a simple, realistic rhythm for preserving more of these moments. ✨

Does organizing your iPhone photos feel impossible before you even begin?

You are definitely not the only one.

When I asked how many photos were sitting on your phones, the responses came pouring in: 17,000… 34,000… 50,000… even 90,000+ photos.

And honestly? No wonder camera roll organization keeps getting pushed off until “later.”

But you do not have to organize every photo before you can start preserving the ones that matter.

You don’t need an entire free weekend, a perfectly organized camera roll or an elaborate photo-storage system.

You need a realistic place to begin.

Start with one small section of your camera roll. Choose what matters. Back up your family photos. Print something you want your children to hold someday.

Small, consistent steps can turn thousands of digital photos into preserved family memories.

That’s exactly why I created the LSP Legacy Photo System—a free 15-minute weekly photo kick-start designed for busy moms who want to get their memories off their phones and into their hands.

The FREE guide will be available this Friday. Follow Lakin | Dallas Family Photographer so you don’t miss it. ✨

‼️What stops you most: the number of photos, not having enough time or simply not knowing where to begin?

As I watched your responses come in last week about how many photos are sitting on your phones, I kept having one thought:

These memories are going to get lost in translation.

What happens when your children grow up and move out?

Are you going to AirDrop all 83,000 photos to them and say, “Here you go—this is your childhood”? 😅

A camera roll isn’t a legacy plan.

One of my biggest passions—aside from getting families in front of my camera—is helping them actually print their photographs.

iPhone photos. Professional photos. Everyday photos. Imperfect photos.

The photographs that tell the story of your family deserve a life beyond a screen.

But one of the biggest things keeping families from printing their photos is overwhelm. You don’t know exactly what’s on your phone, the number feels impossible, and organizing everything becomes something you’ll “get to later.”

That’s where the LSP Legacy Photo System comes in.

It isn’t a plan for perfectly organizing all 78,427 photos overnight. It’s a practical, 15-minute weekly routine that helps you:

→ choose the photographs that matter
→ create a reliable photo backup
→ turn digital memories into something your family can hold

It’s a starting point—and maybe a little saving grace for all those memories currently stuck on a screen.

The FREE LSP Legacy Photo System will be available this Friday. Follow Lakin | Dallas Family Photographer so you don’t miss it.

How many photos are currently sitting on your phone? Tell me below—I promise there’s no judgment here. 😉

Kinda chic to actually print your photos.

To take them off your phone and put them somewhere your kids can flip through them. To frame the ordinary moments. To make a book out of the year you thought you’d never forget—but somehow already feels blurry.

Your photos deserve better than living somewhere between a screenshot and 47 pictures of your kid’s left nostril.

Print the photos. Fill the frames. Make the yearbook.

And if actually getting it done feels overwhelming? Let me do it for you. As a DFW family photographer, I can turn your favorite memories into a family yearbook you’ll actually hold, enjoy and pass down.

It’s giving family legacy. And honestly? That never goes out of style. 🤍
