Your building’s roof and walls are subject to the elements every day. Sometimes it’s the sun, sometimes it’s rain, and sometimes it’s wind.
Following Hurricane Irma, the owners of two buildings in Hallandale, Florida filed insurance claims because they suspected that the storm may have caused damage to both of the roofs.
To determine the extent of the damage present on each of the roofs, we captured visible images of the roof’s exterior, as well as thermal images of the areas where we suspected moisture damage. We also walked the roof to examine the damages and conduct non-destructive moisture meter testing.
Using the data we gathered, we were able to present the client with a detailed report of each of the two roofs. We found that one roof had a moisture content of 36%, and the other had a moisture content of 48%.
Once we analyzed the damage present on the roofs compared to the direction of the wind during the storm, all of the information correlated with the interior damages we observed.
