Is it an ocean? No, it’s the Potato 🥔 hills of Oklahoma. Winding through the Ouachita Mountains, the Talimena Highway opens up to layers of ridges that seem to fade endlessly into the distance. On this particular day, it wasn’t the usual vibrant colors that caught my eye, it was the blue 💙 every time I come here it’s always different surprises of color and light.
My intent was to capture the many shades of blue flowing from the sky into the distant hills, each ridge becoming softer and lighter as it disappeared into the horizon.
The best time of year to come is the fall time when the hills are flowing with many colors of gold, orange and maroon. One of my favorite landscape areas to go to that’s not to far away.
