Meet my friend Maya. 🖌️🎨
I first met Maya the day we both were hired at the same animal hospital in Austin. We were the newbies from local rescues, and boy, did we see some things… (Compassion fatigue is real! Shout out to the rescue staff ❤️) We grew together in that animal hospital life until I transferred and Maya moved on too.
Fast forward to Christmas 2024—I realized I wasn’t quite ready to return to work yet, but I knew I needed to focus on healing. For me, that meant leaning into photography. So I reached out to some of my fellow artist friends to reconnect and encourage them to chase their own dreams.
Maya was one of them. Even though our lives went in different directions, we’ve stayed connected through social media and continued cheering each other on over the years. I love that about our friendship.
She’s such an inspiration when it comes to her love for animals, and I admire her true grit for life. I hope you can feel that same spirit in this shoot. Her paintings are a one of kind too 💖
2025 has been almost as challenging as 2024 but I’m excited to say I’ve got new projects in the works and I’m back to work—really back to work! If you’re interested in a shoot of any kind, let me know.
Now go check out my beautiful friend and her amazing collection!!
