I’m a couple days late (I was dealing with some instagram issues that I finally got resolved!), but I want to wish these two a very happy 3rd anniversary!!!

Alaska was GORGEOUS and COLD on this fine post-Valentine’s Day. I don’t get many opportunities to share such a perfect winter wonderland, being in Arizona, so this is a real treat.

Ever since the very first time I heard “the lakes” by Taylor Swift (bonus track on folklore), my mind was flooded with endless images of wisteria, and running away, and mountainside kisses, and isolated lake shores. I HAD to do something about it.

My original plan was to actually put this shoot together in Portland, OR, but yeah was in full swing September of 2020.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I switched gears and teamed up with Sheryl from , and made this freaking happen. We gathered some of the best vendors Wisconsin had to offer, and then counted down the days to that first weekend of November.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We woke up well before the sun, hiked up that cliff-side to get the “Windermere Peaks” imagery, before heading back down and finding a piece of lakeshore that was just for us. And we told a story of a love worth keeping.

brought us on to their printed Fall Issue this year, and I am still in shock. I put everything into this set, and I can’t explain how incredible it is to see them in print. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Her hubby-to-be watching it all in adoration and excitement to finally get married to his longtime sweetheart. And her brother seeing this all unfold, with the honor of getting to marry his best friend to her soulmate.

I’ve been going through some old work since the last couple years I haven’t been super great at showing what I’ve been up to, so I realized I never shared this set of photos from Lacy’s & Ryan’s engagement session in Ireland!!

So here’s a fun story.

I found this plate at a yard sale that was happening right next to my photography studio like 4 years ago. I adored it. I knew it would photograph amazingly and I was so excited to use it for an upcoming event.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well, I had one too many things stacked up for flat lays when I was planning to use it, and it was ended up falling and breaking in 4 pieces. I was DEVASTATED. I couldn’t find any information on it, and none of the ceramic fixes I read online worked to put it back together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But after hours and hours of sleuthing and browsing through various vintage plate listings on eBay, Jaron found the exact plate! I cried. I was so happy and relieved and grateful that I cried over a plate.

So now, I still have it in my styling kit and I use it at almost every wedding 😌

I tend to have a hard time finding where black and white photos fit in my Instagram grid, so they often end up abandoned. But black and white photos tend to be some of my favorites.

There are some photos that just SCREAM black and white. It’s hard to put a finger on why, but I guess I would say it’s just a feeling I get when looking at the photo. Sometimes it helps quiet the moment to let the emotion take hold. Sometimes it helps to make a portrait that much more elegant and regal.

Either way, here are just a handful of some of my favorite moments captured in black and white 🖤 🤍

I don’t care what the calendar says, it’s fall. And damn I would do almost anything to book a flight to Edinburgh to stand in the rain watching the red and orange leaves fall, wearing the only scarf I have left and a new jacket I’d have bought there for keepsies.

I’m a romantic, and right now the most romantic thing would be to whisk away to Scotland for a long weekend adventure.
