Spending time with Zayna and Andre at a good mutual friend's party reminded me exactly why I keep my client list small these days.

Someone asked me once why I don't value volume like I used to. Because there's a difference between booking a wedding and knowing your brides. A phone call can tell me a lot, but it can't tell me everything. It can't show me how he reaches for her hand mid-sentence at a crowded party. It can't show me what lights her up when she talks about her people. It can't show me the way Andre looks at Zayna like she is the only person in the room, completely enthralled.

And Zayna? She is not just that girl, she is magnetic, she is warm, she walks into a room and you feel it. She is everything to him, and watching Andre look at her, gravitate toward her all night... it is the most beautiful thing. She is worth her weight in gold and he knows it.

Understanding my brides and grooms is one of my favorite parts of this work. You cannot photograph what you do not know. So the list stays small, the relationships stay real, and the images tell the truth.

If I could tell every pregnant woman one thing, it's this: you were made for this.

Your body isn't failing you. It isn't surprising you. It's doing exactly what it was created to do. Growing life, sustaining life, and preparing to birth life.

Not in fear. In power. In love. In strength. In confidence.
Yes, birth can feel scary. But fear is a spirit, and it is not yours to carry. So walk into that hospital, that birth center, that living room with the birthing pool, and know it down to your bones:

You. Were. Made. For. This.

Photographing maternity sessions is one of the greatest privileges of my work. After 5 live births and 4 losses, I know firsthand that pregnancy is not ordinary, it's sacred. Every belly, every mama, every session gets treated that way. I don't take a single one for granted.

Heading out the door now for another session and I could not be more grateful. 🤍

If you're expecting and ready to document this season, the link in my bio has everything you need, I'd be honored to be your photographer.

There is a specific kind of magic that happens when an outgoing soul meets their quiet counterpart. It’s the perfect equilibrium.

Caira and Kameron are a stunning depiction of that equilibrium. Kameron is reserved strength to Caira’s radiant energy.

While they might have two different personalities on the surface, the way they move together is completely seamless. And that’s how it should be when you meet your match, right?

There’s a specific kind of magic that happens before the camera even comes out of the bag.

For me, the real work starts over coffee or a long phone call, hearing about how you met, the jokes only you two get, and the vision you’ve been building for your future. To capture a couple authentically, you have to understand the "why" behind the "who."

I see the engagement session as a window. It’s a quiet space where we find your rhythm and build a foundation. By the time the wedding day arrives, we aren't starting from scratch; we’re just continuing a story we’ve already begun to tell.

There is a quiet magic in a wedding designed with intention. When bride's prioritize personal meaning, the result is a day that never feels 'dated,' it simply feels like home. I love looking back at weddings we've shot,  knowing they’ll feel just as relevant and breathtaking in fifty years as they do today. Timelessness isn’t an accident, it’s a choice.

There’s a specific shift that happens when you stop looking for the "perfect shot" and start looking for the feeling. My work has been evolving into something much more intentional, a clarified vision that moves beyond the surface to find the soul of a wedding day.

It’s about the pre-wedding conversations where we talk about how you want your images to feel. Do you want them to feel like a nostalgic dream or a refined editorial? I want to know the "why" behind your aesthetic so we can create something that feels uniquely yours.

It’s been a beautiful journey balancing the joy and work of motherhood with the intentionality and refinement of this craft. I’m so excited to keep elevating this experience for the couples who trust me with their story.

To my past and future couples: thank you for growing with me. I can’t wait to create something elevated together.

That week between Christmas and New Year’s always messes with my sense of time. Days blur together. No one knows what day it is. Work hasn’t started back, school is still out, and everyone is home at the same time.

Mornings are slower. Kids linger a little longer. Parents aren’t watching the clock. There’s nothing pressing to get to, and because of that, everything feels easier. Those days are sweet not because anything big happens, but because nothing else is demanding your attention.

That’s how I think about family sessions. For that short window, the rest of life can wait. It’s not about checking boxes or trying to get the perfect photo. It’s about being present with each other. Talking, laughing, settling in. When you focus on enjoying the people you’re with, the moments worth keeping happen naturally. A session shouldn’t feel like another item on your list, but like time you’re actually glad you made.

Im convinced the brides who end up with the most soul-stirring images are the ones who release the pressure to “run” their wedding day. They trust their planners. They trust their photographer. And because they do, all that’s left is to be fully present and actually enjoy the day they’ve dreamed of.

Deyaris and Noel were that couple. Kind, grounded, warm, and completely in love. Fully here for each moment. Family-centered and an absolute joy to serve. Capturing their day felt absolutely effortless.

Wedding and family photography is the only career I’ve known. For 13 years, I’ve loved this art and the people I get to talk with and meet along the way. I’ve experimented with different editing styles and approaches over the years, but time has refined my eye and anchored my heart. Years of photographing people and stories have taught me exactly who I am behind the camera, someone who values connection over perfection and real moments over posed ones, with just enough direction to keep you from wondering what to do with your hands.

Lately, I’ve been especially inspired by brides who trust me and immerse themselves fully in their wedding day. Not caught up in the production or the timeline, but in the joy of becoming one with their person.

I feel that same inspiration and fulfillment photographing mothers, women with stories of their own navigating motherhood with grace, loving their children deeply, and wanting to capture that love, not just a perfect smile. The beauty of relationship. Hearing stories like my cousin Peta’s, who is returning to acting after becoming a mother in her forties, reminds me again and again...THIS, this is why I love what I do.

My heart is full and I cannot wait for Dallas minis tomorrow!
