Oh the sweet magic of Christmas time ❤️💚💍
• little story behind this :
So my uncle and I have had a “who can surprise who the best “ competition going on for a little while now and we always try to make it a big deal. Well this time I helped him surprise everyone! This was planned and everything within a week. He gives me a call one day and says this is what I’m doing, we’re going to St. Augustine from Jupiter, FL for the lights and I want you there, i say “okay, how can we make this happen”. So I’m calling around everywhere to book reservations for places to stay, my flight, rental car, everything. So the day comes and I leave work early. I go to the airport, get through the fun-ness of Atlanta Airport, get to my gate and wait. It gets changed, running to the other side of the airport, gets changed again, and delayed an hour. *i got there almost 4 hours early in case of this to have enough time* finally get on the plane, make it to Jacksonville, get my rental and drive an hour to St. Augustine. By this time, my family still has no idea, so everyone’s calling for normal conversation and I’m trying to hold it together. I turned my location off for everyone and finally make it. I have their location so we had preplanned where they would be, where they’re coming from, exactly where to do it everything. I am watching it like a hawk, in the beautiful downtown St. Augustine and I finally see them. ( my uncle saw me first thankfully) and when I see them walk up, I had to hide behind a family *trying to be discrete and not scare them, they went along with it and caught it on video for me* and it went perfect! She was so surprised and everyone was cheering and clapping around, MAGICAL✨ finally, I hug them and Thea still has no clue it was me. It finally clicked and she’s like oh my gosh, what’re you doing here, how did you get here, all the things and everyone’s laughing and crying, it went perfect. We get some more pictures and celebrate! Next day, I have to head back home. Drive back to Jacksonville, drop the rental off, get through the airport and wait. Here is where it gets funny. As I’m waiting, my family is calling “wyd, can i FaceTime you, I’m trying to find Christmas present ideas” all the things, as I’m sitting in the airport! Im having to text them, can’t talk, I’m busy, just text it to me, and they’re wanting me to answer! Obviously I can’t because it would give it away and they would freak out that I’m at an airport and they didn’t know. Finally get on the flight back, get my car, and drive home. Made it safe with no one knowing anything. Next day, we’re doing Christmas at my families and I’m shaking. We planned to FaceTime Brian and Thea and tell the family all at once. We normally FaceTime him a couple of times just for everyone to say hey and merry Christmas, so that part worked out. Keep in mind, I’m in Georgia, they’re in Florida and I haven’t been back but less than 24 hours from Florida. So everyone is enjoying time with family, talking, all the things and I have the pictures ready on my iPad. I get everyone together in the living room and say I have some news! Funny enough, everyone thought I was about to say I was pregnant or something, lol. So we have them on FaceTime and I say,” you’re probably all wondering why I wasn’t able to answer the phone or go to dinner the other night, and it’s actually because I was in Florida.” They’re all confused and trying to figure out why. “I actually have only been back for a little bit, but I had a photoshoot.” As I turn the iPad around for everyone to see, I say.” Because Brian proposed to Thea and she said YES” and everyone goes crazy! Yay, Omg, crying, everything! Everyone is so excited and clapping, it was a lot of exciting emotion! So everyone passes around to see the pictures and she’s showing her ring, everything went perfectly to plan! So I finally proceed to explain everything and tell how I managed to get there and back and all of the in between and they’re all laughing and saying how did you pull this off without us knowing, everything. But they’re still just as excited as me to have Thea join our family.
So with all of that said, we pulled off, I say, the best proposal ever! Brian Griggers & Thea Kaspar, I am still over the moon excited, and so happy for you both! I cannot wait to help capture the best upcoming moments in this journey! I love you both! Thank you for letting me be apart of this!
