My name is April, & I am the face behind the lens of Local Nomad Photography. I am a native Texan torn between my deep love for home and my intense desire to see the world, which is how the name "Local Nomad" was born. I am a full-time, clinical Physical Therapist specializing in general orthopedic and sports rehab. As you might imagine, I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to biomedical sciences and

will talk to you for hours on end about the wonders of what the human body is capable of. This includes the depth of human emotion and passion. As a natural light photographer, I love to capture those raw, intimate and in-between moments to show off the unique qualities every couples possesses. Adventurous, furiously wild couples give me life. I believe photographs are a frozen moment in time, and I want to help you create images so vivid that you can enjoy them in a lifetime of memories. Did I mention that I'm a nerd?! If you are a Harry Potter (Ravenclaw woot woot) or Lord of the Rings fanatic, trust me, we'll be best friends forever. When I'm not treating patients or taking pictures of rad people, you may find me a) hanging out with my fiance and fur-child, b) perusing vinyl records to add to my collection, c) planning my next trip or d) obsessing over adventure elopements on Instagram and Pinterest. Changes for 2026 and a BIG sale!!!

After some serious consideration of where my time is being spent, I’ve decided to alter my approach to scheduling this year in the hopes to free up more time to be at home while also still giving return clients extra perks and benefits.

*no formal mini sessions in 2026 (including spring motherhood and fall/holiday minis)

*minimal availability for weekend scheduling, more sessions scheduled on weekdays

*still offering anytime minis in Mansfield Monday-Thursdays

Knowing that many families have enjoyed my organized minis in the past, I am currently holding a sale for anytime minis through December 24th. You can buy a mini for $250 +tax for use in 2026 ($100 discount). I will only be offering 10 of these discounted sessions at this time.

I will also be introducing a membership for return clients only that will include 3 sessions at $1200+tax (over $450 saved over the course of 3 booked sessions). Membership sessions will be given priority for limited weekend scheduling. Half of the membership total will be due at the time of purchase. The remaining half is due when scheduling the first of the 3 sessions. I can also do payment plans if needed.
