6 years ago, this tiny studio space in Dallas became my literal home for 6 months.
On May 1, 2020, my childhood dreams of being a studio owner became reality. I was 25 years old and after working at several different photography companies in the area to build my reputation as a professional photographer, I decided it was time to do my own thing.
I slept on a sofa left behind from a previous tenant and worked up to buying an air mattress. I took sink baths, ate microwaved food, and I had a cheap car so most times I skateboarded to local shops for sustenance. Even my girlfriend at the time (now my wife đ) would come and spend time with me and keep my dream alive.
Clients would come for photoshoots, interviews, t-shirt printing, vocal recording and music productionâŚI was a hustler. If it made sense, then it was making cents. I put that tiny room to WORK!
Many people thought I was crazy for opening a studio in a pandemic, but where they saw obstacles, I saw opportunity; and more than that⌠I saw freedom. It would finally be all up to me if I succeeded or failed, and I loved those odds, because betting on myself had never been a bad investment.
Fast forward ⊠and after 6 years of maintaining a consistent career in creative production and aiding businesses in their growth as a team member, here I am again, considering taking another leap for myself, entrepreneurially.
I wonât say too much just yet, but I canât wait to show the world, and show myself, what I do next! 𼳠If I were you, Iâd bet on me too đ
