I was at Mockingbird station waiting for the bus to get home. I had earbuds in my ears playing chill-hop as a way to block out the world. Well, I was leaning against the bus stop canopy because that's what I do (I lean against stuff) when I waiting for the bus.
Some guy (a complete stranger) of the other side the canopy started banging on it to get my attention. I was like, "Yo, whatchu need?!" The was very dirty and overweight and didn't exactly smell like roses. He was one of the unsanitized and unwanted members of our society. He wasn't of the cool kids.
With a big smile on his face, he asked, "Sir, may I use your phone?" So, I handed him my phone (somewhat reluctantly but I did it anyway). He then proceeded to make a phone call. No one answered so he left a message the voicemail. He says, "momma I love Jesus!" And he goes on for seven minutes telling his mother about how much he loves Jesus. I'm just standing there like, okay cool but can I get my phone back... (nowadays we get anxious whenever our phones are out of hands longer five minutes...which is sad)
He handed me back my phone and thanked me. I said, "no problem..God is good." I walked away about five from him checking my Instagram. I turned around to give him a head check, and the guy wasn't there. I looked at the area, and he was nowhere in sight. It's like the guy just vanished.
I texted someone and told her about happened. Her response, "that's how our God operates!" He appears to us in the most unassuming ways. And when He does should welcome Him.
