Remember when you thought adults knew what they were doing? Yeah. About that.

In episode five of Off The Shot List, we somehow weave wedding photography, parenting, homeschooling, and rock climbing into one very familiar realization: we’ve become the adults in the room, and we’re still Googling absolutely everything.

We talk about the things we’ve figured out along the way, the things we’re still winging, and the slightly unsettling realization that our parents were probably doing the same. From raising kids to running a business, when does experience turn into confidence—and does anyone ever actually feel like they’ve got this?

We usually come here for the humans. Today, the details get a turn. 👀

Because this recent event at The Village Dallas was too gorgeous to keep tucked away in a gallery.

We love photographing the people who bring a room to life, but there’s also so much care and creativity that goes into making that room feel welcoming, thoughtful, and ready for a really good time. This one deserved a little space on the feed.

Always a joy to work alongside some of our favorite vendor partners. The Village team makes us feel right at home every time…and gives our cameras plenty to be excited about. 🤍

Engagement photos don’t have to follow a script.

Blake and Marlee wanted something fun, creative, and a little outside the box, so we let the afternoon at Prather Park and White Rock Lake unfold around them. We played, tried ideas as they came to us, laughed a lot, and somehow ended up making hand puppets with a tree. 😂

That’s our favorite part of an engagement session: finding the things that make two people themselves and giving them room to show up in the photos. Blake and Marlee were up for all of it, and we had an absolute blast with them.

It’s officially official. THEY’RE MARRIED. 🥹✨

Two days. Two celebrations. Two families coming together. One absolutely unforgettable weekend in New York + New Jersey.

Amy & Amandeep brought us all the way from Texas to document a wedding weekend filled with tradition, family, ridiculous amounts of joy, and two very different (and equally incredible) days of celebrating the heck out of these two.

From their Sikh ceremony surrounded by family and tradition on day one, to saying “I do” all over again with the Manhattan skyline behind them at Maritime Parc on day two… this one was something spectacular.

We flew home with full memory cards, tired feet, very happy hearts, and approximately 9,000 stories we’re dying to tell.

“The most respectful thing a person can do is allow another person to be themselves.”

And yep. We were talking about weddings. 🤘

There are approximately 847,392 opinions waiting for you the second you get engaged.

What you should do.
Who you have to invite.
What weddings are supposed to look like.
Which traditions you can’t possibly skip.
What your parent or grandparent wants. What your friends did. What TikTok has decided is mandatory this week.

But somewhere underneath all of that noise are two actual humans trying to plan a day that feels like them.

So here’s your permission slip:

Skip the tradition you don’t connect with.
Wear the thing that makes you feel incredible.
Serve your favorite food.
Invite 40 people. Invite 240.
Get married in a church, a courthouse, a museum, your backyard, or halfway across the world.
Spend money on the things you care about and absolutely zero dollars trying to impress people you don’t.

Your wedding doesn’t need to be a performance of what everyone else thinks a wedding should be.

It gets to be yours.

And maybe one of the kindest things the people who love you can do is trust you enough to let it be. 🫶

Some sessions almost don’t happen.

After what felt like weeks of nonstop storms and multiple weather checks an hour, we woke up at 4am today to thunder literally shaking the house and rain absolutely POURING outside. Safe to say… our hearts sank a little. 😅

But we checked the radar (again), packed the gear, grabbed the coffee, crossed every finger and headed toward Fort Worth anyway hoping the skies would give us a tiny window. And somehow, they did.

The soft clouds. The slow morning light. Trinity Park completely quiet. The dreamy greens from all the recent rain. It honestly felt like the universe decided to show off just for Riddhi & Rishabh.

These two were effortlessly sweet together from the second we started. No forcing. No over-posing. Just laughter, forehead touches, little glances and the kind of calm chemistry that makes our documentary-loving hearts very happy.

We wrapped their session at the Kimbell Art Museum and I’m still not over how perfectly the architecture, soft colors and movement came together. Fort Worth engagement sessions in stormy spring weather may officially have our heart now.

If this is how their engagement session felt, we already KNOW their multi-day South Asian wedding at Hillside Estate next March is going to be unreal. Counting down until we get to celebrate alongside the incredible team at .

A farewell tour.
A love letter to Dallas.

Alex & Josh are closing one chapter and starting another in the most iconic way possible. Before their move to New Jersey and wedding in Italy next month, they wanted photos that felt unmistakably Dallas.

The skyline. The bridges. The golden light. The places that shaped their story here. Honestly, I think this session delivered on that vision perfectly.
