Hey ya'll, David here!

I'm constantly trying to improve my workflows on set and even with the Cheetah Stand Pistol Stand Mobile Tethering Station keeping everything organized and within reach for me, USB-C tethering was still giving me fits.

I think some of you have felt the same frustration so I wanted to share an alternative workflow that you might like better. Let me know what ya'll think!

Everyone has their own preferred tethering setup. I've used Lightroom for tethering and I've used Capture One for tethering but it has always been on a USB-C cord and now I think I've come to the perfect solution...Ethernet tethering. Hear me out! One of the main differences that we're proud of Cheetah Stand is that both Charles and David are actual working photographers. Which means, we put our own equipment thru the torture of a photoshoot. There aren't many other companies testing their gear the same way we are.

Here's David at a commercial shoot using the Super Boom to save his bacon with a large scrim as the sunlight came up. With a mix of the classic Cheetah Stand C12s, Mobile Tethering Station, the Quick Softboxes and Super Boom - the photo team was ready for anything!

Well, we're back from Shutterfest 2026. There’s nothing quite like the energy of seeing old friends and making new ones in an environment where everyone just "gets it."

In our day-to-day work back in our own cities, the creative path can feel pretty solitary. It’s tough to find people in our normal circles who truly understand the specific grind and the creative weight of what we do. That’s why these shows are so essential—they bridge that gap. Being around a community reminds us that we’re part of something bigger. It’s about building those new threads, strengthening our network, and finding that spark again that reminds us why we fell in love with making images in the first place.

Hey ya'll!

It's time for a re-introduction to your friends at Cheetah Stand! 👋We figured it was time to put faces to the name — so here we are! It's David and Charles, the team behind Cheetah Stand, and we couldn't be more excited to build something special with all of you here.

Here's the thing that sets us apart — we're photographers too. We've been in your shoes. We know the late nights editing, the gear struggles, the client headaches, and everything in between. Cheetah Stand was built because we lived it, and we wanted better solutions for ourselves and for this incredible community.
We genuinely get your creative pains, because they were ours first. Between the 2 of us, we have over 40 years of experience in the wedding, event, portrait and commercial photography space in Dallas, TX!

On that note — we'll be at Shutterfest 26 in St. Louis next week! If you're making the trip, please come find us at our booth. We would absolutely love to meet you in person, shake some hands, geek out over gear, and just connect face to face. Those conversations are honestly our favorite part of what we do.

You'll often see Charles at PPA events around the country as well because more than anything, this group is about community. We want this to be a space where photographers and creatives can ask questions, share wins, troubleshoot challenges, and grow together. No question is too big or too small — whether it's about gear, business, lighting, marketing, or anything else in the creative world, we're here for all of it.

So drop your questions, introduce yourself, and let's get this community rolling. We can't wait to get to know each one of you. 🐆
